Must-Have Baby Products blog series, Product Recommendations for Parents, Babies, and Kids
New year, new purchases!
We asked a few from our babyark family what products they love, and rounded up recommendations for infants, toddlers, kids, and their caregivers. Because first and foremost, we’re parents (and, gasp, people) ourselves!
These are purely personal endorsements, with no affiliate links or sponsorship. Just because we like to share the wisdom we acquire to save others some of the hassle along the way.
Sometimes the classics are classics for a reason, and truly hold up to the test of time.
For other things, it’s amazing to see the evolution of offerings to cater to parents and caregivers at different budgets with different lifestyles. The industry of baby products has grown to accommodate picky parents, finicky kids, and assist in almost everything at any point in any day, at every stage of development. It’s dazzling and wonderful.
While you certainly don’t need all of it, and many multi-task, we all have our favorites. Like convertible car seats that stay with you for the long haul. For example. Off the top of our heads.
Katie’s not just a mom (and a proud dog mom), she also has a unique perspective, having worked in a local store in her hometown in sunny Texas selling the top of the line in all things baby. Katie has had countless conversations with parents, caregivers, and expecting parents, witnessed their dilemmas, helped guide and learn from their choices, and fielded questions on an array of products.
These are her recs:
For Expectant Moms Preparing For Baby:
-
Breast Milk Collector:
-
Tiny Tot Innovations has a fantastic one.
-
Haakaa is another widely loved brand.
I love these because they’re so versatile. For moms breastfeeding, they’re perfect for catching the “letdown” from the other breast while feeding. For pumping moms, they’re an easy manual pump for quick middle-of-the-night sessions. It ensures every drop is cherished! -
Frida Baby or Frida Mom Products:
-
Frida
Their postpartum kit is a lifesaver—everything in one cost-effective box that’s super convenient to keep in the bathroom. All their products are thoughtfully designed and incredibly useful. -
Their NoseFrida is a classic, as well, and has helped parents and stuffy babies breathe easier for years. But for the squeamish? There’s now an electric version.
For Newborn Moms:
-
Magnetic Me Onesies:
-
Magnetic Me
These onesies use magnets instead of snaps or zippers, making late-night changes so much easier. Plus, they’re made of sustainable materials like modal, and they don’t shrink, so they last longer! Parents of littles know how dirty everything gets, how much laundry we go through, so knowing you can throw it in the wash without ruining it is a welcome relief. -
Portable Highchair (Perch):
-
Perch Highchair
Around six months, when babies start sitting up and move on to testing solids you’ll need a highchair—and this one has been a game-changer for me. It’s the only portable highchair with a five-point harness for extra security when trying to sit up your precious baby. It also has a high back with cushioning, making it super comfortable. Plus, it’s easy to take on the go. -
Silicone Teething Necklace:
I’m particularly a fan of the brand Chewable Charm for silicone teething necklaces -worn by Mom, enjoyed by all. They are so stylish and functional, making them perfect for both moms and babies!
For Developmental Toys:
-
Wee Gallery:
-
Wee Gallery
These toys are perfect for newborns, featuring high contrast colors that captivate and draw babies’ attention. They’re simple yet effective in sparking visual development. -
HABA:
-
HABA
This brand offers award-winning toys, and their mission and values go above and beyond. HABA toys are made with sustainability in mind, offering safe, durable, and beautifully designed products that nurture babies’ development in a fun, educational way.
For Car Seats:
-
Of course, as a mom who’s on the road A LOT, I love the convenience and peace of mind provided by my babyark, which I’ve had since my son was 10 months old. Road trips are made easier when you know your baby is both comfortable and - more importantly even - safe.
