When babyark talks about a holistic approach to safety, this means that every component of the car seat, our accessories, and our overall thought process come together to support and protect your family. This is exactly the logic of our approach - everything matters.
The Easy Ins and Outs of It
When we talk about babyark's foolproof installation and why it was important to us to minimize the chance of human error, we make the simple point that even the highest calibre car seat will be rendered less effective if not installed properly. You wouldn’t assume an oxygen mask would help you on an airplane if you positioned it on your forehead. A car seat which does not leverage its safety features gives false confidence, and will not keep our precious cargo safe.
The same can be said for making sure your child is snugly secure in their seat. If they cannot be positioned properly, this undermines the safety of the seat. And if there are 19 steps involved in trying to get them into or out of the car seat, you risk their physical safety and the mental well-being of everyone involved as you remind yourself to breathe through the frustration. Not everything has to be as hard as our industry-grade steel. That’s why we emphasize ease of use alongside safety, and each feature comes into play to prioritize both.
babyark helps both caretaker and baby alike by easing the experience of getting your child in and out of the car seat. The car seat has two sets of magnets to align with magnets on the upper and lower parts of the harness, so the straps stay out of the way, allowing you to place your baby in easily without feeling the need for ten extra hands. It may sound like a minor thing, but anyone who has ever tried to finagle a sleeping baby into a car seat while juggling whatever else understands how big of a deal this is. The quick lock chest clip clicks together easily, and helps you place the harness at the right position. These are just some of the small details that add up to the enormity of an improved experience that babyark built into our car seats. Another? The buckle is designed to flip forward to make it easier to place the child in and click the tongues into place, whereas once the child is buckled, a connected mechanical component understands that your child is buckled and ready to go, and will alert you if you leave the car and forget your little one behind.
Ergonomic and Intelligently Designed
As babyark vowed to take nothing for granted in the process to design, develop, engineer, test, and reassess our car seats, this in some ways was freeing. Limitless. It meant that we never felt we had to do things “the way everyone else did,” in fact, we embraced being different. It enabled us to think of how our consumer would want things (founder and CEO Shy Mindel conceived of the babyark when he had his own twins), and how we could bring new angles to old problems. While paying special attention to every detail of US requirement and regulation, we did not restrict ourselves to the best of design, also studying the best of car seat features and applying logic from across the continents. With the killer combination of an aeronautical engineer at the helm in founder Shy Mindel and Design Director Frank Stephenson, responsible for such brilliance as the Maserati, there was never any danger of babyark car seats falling into the bucket of “more of the same.”
But beyond the mission to redefine child safety and never compromise - ease of use, comfort, and convenience were guiding pillars never neglected. And when something seemed to work well, and make sense? Friends and family, focus groups, experts, and every day consumers were consulted to push “great” to “better.”
Where others see challenges, we see opportunity. No downside to being pushed to be the best version of ourselves, and evolve every day.
Thought Went Into Each and Every Feature
Do babies love us? We’ll have to take their happy coos as endorsements, because they can’t rave just yet. But since babyark rear faces through 50 pounds, and forward faces up to 65 pounds or 6 years old, we have many an enthusiastic toddler who used to complain about discomfort yet now happily gets into the car, which makes for thrilled parents. While the smiles of our smallest customers are wonderful, we set out to make car seats that checked off all the boxes for safety and satisfaction with parents in mind.
We spared no expense and skipped no step in the engineering and design processes, which also means each material and every decision was chosen, culled, and cultivated with precision. And we stand behind the results. While it may look like a button to you, hours of thought went into the choice of shape, size, and location. And if you’re looking to spend an interesting few minutes, just take one of our engineers aside and ask about a feature, and you’ll get an intelligent, thorough explanation. No matter how tiny the detail. And this passion comes through in the babyark convertible car seat.
Our Position on the Matter
We know babies make messes, and that parents love how gorgeous our color combinations are, and the lushness of the material. So our fabric covers easily zip off to be washed and cleaned, and to enable a bit of variety.
Our cup holders? Attach to either side of the car seat, so you can put one in on either or both sides.
Love the feel and the fit? Don’t worry, our seat adapts to and “grows with” your littles - with an adjustable headrest that has 11 positions with no re-thread necessary.
Angle of incline? Adjustable with one hand, even while your child is situated comfortably in the seat. And when it’s time to switch from rear-facing to forward-facing, there are no complicated calculations or machinations. Just change the direction of the placement of the seat.
Come for Safety, Stay for Comfort and Convenience
Did we think of everything? No, because that’s impossible. But we aim to get as close as we can, and never stop rethinking, researching, and refining because it’s who we are, what we love, and what we do. Safety-first is our motto and our mantra, but when we cater to the comfort and convenience of both child and caregiver, we help ensure that our seats are installed and used correctly, and can serve your family for years to come.
